On September 10, 2024 the federal mandate on breast density notification takes effect. The mandate, part of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA), requires health providers to notify women of their breast density. Imaging societies such as the American College of Radiology (ACR) recommend supplemental breast MRI for women with dense breasts.
